This year Santi and I decided that we wanted to take at least one trip a year together with friends, family, or on our own. He has gone to Cancun many times before with his family and two years ago I joined one of their trips. We both decided it would be fun to go back and try a new hotel. Usually when you go to Cancun you stay at an all inclusive and do absolutely nothing but lay on the beach drinking piña coladas (which is exactly my kind of vacation and exactly what we did!)
This time we stayed at a resort called Dreams Sands Cancun and I thought I should share my experience for any of you wanting to book a trip to tropical paradise.
We chose Cancun because it is a fun, yet affordable option. We booked our entire trip through www.bookit.com which took about 20 minutes and spent approximately $600 each which included our flight from Miami to Cancun, three nights and four days at the resort, food and drinks (which we had a lot of!), and all amenities.
I was actually freaking out like two weeks before our trip because I kept on checking the weather and it said thunderstorms every single day, but everyday we were there was beautiful with no clouds and a ton of sun. When I went with Santi’s family we also went in October so I would say it is the perfect time to go and get cheap tickets since it isn’t a usual month where people go on vacation.
The resort itself was very nice and the service was amazing. The rooms were clean and the people were extremely nice. The only thing we didn’t love was the food. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t the best food ever. There were many restaurant options including a breakfast buffet, Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, a sushi bar, and more. My personal fav was the Italian because I love all things pasta and carbs. The drinks were super good and they always made sure you had one in your hand at all times (my kind of people!)
Overall, I had a great time at Dream Sands and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a short getaway!
